New Metal Roof for Waterfront Home
Sun Catcher Roofing recently completed a full roof replacement at the Talanian Residence located in Boca Raton, Florida. This multi-level, 45-foot-tall coastal home required a high-performance metal roofing system designed to withstand South Florida’s harsh conditions, including salt air exposure, high winds, and intense UV radiation.
The existing concrete tile roof had deteriorated over time due to prolonged environmental exposure, leading to reduced waterproofing performance. To address this, our team performed a complete tear-off down to the deck, followed by inspection and replacement of any compromised CDX plywood.
The new system features a premium .032 aluminum standing seam Dynamic Metals roof with 16” wide panels and a 1.5” mechanical lock profile in Slate Grey. This system was specifically selected for its superior corrosion resistance and long-term durability in coastal environments. A Polyglass FR high-temperature underlayment was installed to provide an added layer of protection beneath the metal panels.
All panels were mechanically seamed and installed using a code-compliant fastening pattern engineered to meet Florida Building Code wind uplift requirements for a 45-foot structure. Custom-fabricated flashings, valleys, hips, and penetration details were installed to ensure watertight integrity across all roof transitions.
Completed between March and May 2025, this project highlights Sun Catcher Roofing’s expertise in delivering durable, low-maintenance roofing systems that enhance both performance and architectural appeal. The result is a long-lasting roofing solution built to protect the home for decades while improving energy efficiency and curb appeal.
