This summer, Sun Catcher Roofing Owner Nick Nedeff traveled to Italy with his son, combining a family vacation with an opportunity to learn more about one of the world’s most respected clay roof tile manufacturers.

Discovering Italy Together

The trip took them from the historic streets of Rome to the breathtaking coastline of Sorrento, where they experienced the country’s remarkable history, architecture, culture, and cuisine. From ancient landmarks to scenic coastal towns, every stop offered something memorable.

Italy was everything we hoped it would be. The people were incredibly welcoming, the food was amazing, and every city had its own unique character. Spending that time with my son and experiencing such a beautiful country together was the highlight of the trip.

While the vacation was centered around family, there was naturally a little roofing mixed into the itinerary.

A Visit to Cotto Possagno

As anyone in the roofing industry knows, roofers never really stop looking at roofs.

During their travels, Nick and his son visited the Cotto Possagno manufacturing facility, where they toured the production plant and learned how premium Italian clay roof tiles are manufactured.

Seeing the process firsthand—from raw materials and forming to firing, quality control, and finished products—provided valuable insight into the craftsmanship behind some of the world’s finest luxury roof tiles.

Visiting Cotto Possagno was an incredible experience,seeing the attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into every tile reminds you that quality begins long before installation. It was exciting to learn about new products while sharing the experience with my son.
